New deer regulations and CWD concerns reflect a shotgun approach for fears of disease and declining deer harvest reports. Chronic Wasting Disease is here to stay, but after 18 years here in SW WI it has not changed the deer herd even close to what was first projected. Also, the proposed regulations that threaten to divide compound and crossbow hunters in the state of WI as well as the current quality level of WI's gun season, appear ill-advised From finding a better place to hunt, to the overreaction of CWD, it is time to blow off some steam for a good old fashioned deer regulations rant.
