What Others Are Saying

Thanks again Jeff for all you do and continue to do
I wanted to send these over so you could forward them to Jeff, I have hunted in Western PA my whole life and to shoot a buck over 120” is an accomplishment for most hunters. I have spent hours watching Jeff’s youtube videos. The pictures below are from bucks I shot since I started listening to what he taught on his videos about 4 years ago. Prior to watching his videos I never shot anything bigger than a 125” buck. I just wanted to take a moment to thank him for his dedication and knowledge, he has helped me to become a way better hunter and not spend an eternity of hours in the woods spooking deer. The biggest buck shot was one on a cold front morning, I had covid and had about a 700 yard walk to get to my stand in order to not spook them going in. I felt terrible but knew I had to be there. I learned where he was bedding and where he was eating. It was pouring down rain and when the rain stopped at 7:00 I shot the buck at 7:18 like clockwork. I recommend his videos to all of my friends and will always promote his business. I have been busy with work which is why im getting these plot mixes so late. Prior to this year I never needed food plots to hunt as I just took the basic principals I learned from jeff and used them, in this case this year I have to keep my target bucks a little closer on a new property since there is so much pressure here. Anyways Thanks again Jeff for all you do and continue to do, im excited to share the knowledge I have learned from you with my kids. Im not a kiss ass type of person but figured you might enjoy seeing the good that your doing by helping hunters.
Thank you,
Josh

I'm a big believer in Jeff Sturgis and Whitetail Habitat Solutions,,,
I'm a big believer in Jeff Sturgis and Whitetail Habitat Solutions,,, Before I stumbled on to one of his videos, I was that guy walking through the middle of my property, sitting on food plots, careless property access, ignoring wind direction and then whining that all my deer are nocturnal,,,Through his videos and property visits,I've transformed my property and have become a much better hunter..As a result I've shot my 5 biggest bucks, since watching that 1st video 5 years ago..

I followed Jeff’s advice to a tee!
Picture of deer are average bucks in my plots, “layered Rye” & clover, we currently are seeing 8 deer similar in rack size with 2 other bucks approximately 150 class, not bad for a few acres of food plots with a newcomer planting them…although I can’t take the credit, I followed Jeff’s advice to a tee!

Greetings Jeff, Thank you for all of your shared knowledge, i have literally watched every u-tube video you have shared.
Greetings Jeff, Thank you for all of your shared knowledge, i have literally watched every u-tube video you have shared. I live in Drums Pa. 18222. I recently purchased a small plot of 5 acres which borders approximately 400 acres of privately owned wooded area. I have hunted for over 20 years in this area harvesting great bucks every year, I am also surrounded by hundreds of acres of corn / soybean fields, with that said, As I am a green horn planter I exclusively use your Techniques of Hinge cutting / layering rye with huge success. I currently plant 1 acre of rye and 1 acre of white clover around my new house which covers the remaining acres, my thoughts with the clover is aesthetically looks great, better than standard grass. I am learning that these types of plots are holding the deer and turkeys year round. I let both plots grow to seed for fawning and poult cover, I will cut 1st week of August then start cycle all over again, Bottom line is, Thank you so much for "free" training, its the best. If ever your in my neck of the woods i would love to meet you and assist you in any way! Sincerely, John

That deer never would have been harvested without your help.
after 34 years of hunting this land and only 2 years after a 1/4 acre food plot at the very bottom of the hill next to the creek and turning the powerlines into switch grass and a 1/2 acre of a 4 clover mix he shot his first big buck here and I'm seeing alot. Thanks you so much. That deer never would have been harvested without your help. And the last one I seen is much much larger than that

Thanks Jeff and the WHS team!
Jeff visited us in Central Michigan for the first time in the spring of 2022. In the 3 years we have hunted the property before Jeff’s consultation we had shot 4 bucks all scoring between 95”- 105” Jeff came out and gave us a plan. The biggest take away for us was to create significantly more depth of cover and access. Jeff had us move our food plots away from the middle of the property to create layers of bedding and helped us understand how to use the topography of our property for hunting access. I watched hours and hours of Jeff on YouTube and had a pretty good idea about what he was going to recommend, but having him in person able to apply his management philosophy to our property specifically directly made it easy. We started making changes immediately and that first hunting season, shot a 130” 5 year old 10 point.
This year, our switchgrass is coming in our food plots are expanding, and our blinds and stand locations are even better than before. We still have plenty of work ahead of us, but now, we have a plan. Thanks Jeff and the WHS team!

I can’t begin to express how happy I am to have made the decision to choose Whitetail Habit Solutions (WHS).
I can’t begin to express how happy I am to have made the decision to choose Whitetail Habit Solutions (WHS). Jeff and his team have done amazing things for everyone which includes me. As an out of state owner my time is limited and I knew I needed help so I researched and follow Jeff for awhile and the decision was very easy for me to learn from to get me on track. Kevan Smith came out to the property and was absolutely a beast getting things straightened out and offered great information to help me understand how to properly set things up and how to hunt the property the correct way.
I was able to turn my struggle over the years and turn it into a successful memory. I was able to do this by following the proven concepts Jeff created over the years. Staying focused to maximize the potential and leverage my limited time was important for me in order to become successful. WHS was able to help me get there. By following the concepts it offers a higher potential to the success you’re looking for and also gives you those important memories with family and friends on the way to fulfilling your dreams.
A Big Thank You to Jeff choosing to share for all to learn and for his team for sharing his vision. Your awesome!
Here are some photos of my 1st years success and more to come.

I simply can not that WHS enough for their help.
I had a fantastic experience working with Kevan this past winter. I am very new to hunting and have learned so much valuable information on herd development through land improvements. Based upon the site visit , Kevan really took the time to understand where we were at in our hunting journey and from there built our stand and food plot locations. We have had a successful 1st year no till food plot experience using buckwheat! ( I have a picture attached of the buckwheat plot). I have also taken the hunting hills web class to better impact my hunting skills in North Central PA. Jeff is a great educator. I am now prepared to hunt from my stand locations based upon winds/thermals in the hill country of PA. I simply can not that WHS enough for their help. We are excited to apply our new found education to hunting this fall.
Thank you again!

Now we are very confident that we have a great deer hunting property now.
My son and I had Jeff come out in early August 2022. We worked on the plan he provided us and finished it up the second week of September. We improved some bedding areas, combined 2 smaller food plots into one large plot, and created a deer trail all the way around the property to tie everything together. We hung several cameras on this trail; each over a mock scrape. We instantly noticed several deer using this trail. By thickening up the center of the property, a couple of nice bucks started to use our place as their new home. This provided me with the opportunity to take this nice 10 point the second week of November. He was a local buck on our 40 acres, and we had several daytime pictures of him. We had been working on our property for about five years and thought we were on the right track. However, by having Jeff come out to help us improve our habitat plan, we realized we needed to make some changes. Now we are very confident that we have a great deer hunting property now. Happy to share that Kevan came out in spring of 22 and designed an amazing layout
Happy to share that Kevan came out in spring of 22 and designed an amazing layout
I have 2 boys 5/7 and we use the ponds for fishing and they love riding the trails on all our toys!
We see a handful of the same bucks from June-Sept but when prime season kicks in, it is hot and steady action
It was not uncommon to see 6-8 different bucks a sit and always multiple does
Unfortunately I did not harvest one that I am looking for yet, but 2 of my good friend both got quality mature bucks last year (tine to start charging!lol)
On top of that the turkeys were relating more to some of the cuttings close to timber and alfalfa fields and that resulted in many mornings with multiple Tom’s coming in My 7 year old took his first and it was an awesome experience!

If you're on the fence about paying the expense, I would recommend moving forward with things, the entire experience was worth every penny.
I came across Jeff's Youtube videos several years ago, as an avid outdoorsmen I was drawn immediately to his content. Owning a five acre parcel, which over time I incorporated Jeff's practices. Putting in trails, waterholes, mock scrapes and of course food plots. 3rd season in I harvested a 160's class buck, most people are astonished that deer came from a five acre parcel. After purchasing 120 acres, I decided to book Jeff for an onsite visit ensuring a solid game plan was to be put in place. Scheduling took some time but was well worth the wait, the plan put together by Jeff was excellent, both my hunting partner and I were amazed at the details being presented; it was clear we made the right decision. My overall experience was good, Jeff was professional, his years of knowledge definitely was evident. If you're on the fence about paying the expense, I would recommend moving forward with things, the entire experience was worth every penny. Attached is a picture of the buck referenced above, a deer I called "My Guy" I look forward to many more opportunities in the years to come. Mike N

My only regret is we didn’t do it 20 years earlier!
The design from WHS changed the way we use and access or land, hunt morning versus night, and prepare the property each season. We are having so much fun year-round implementing the suggestions. Now that you offer seed through your company that is pure and without tons of hard seed or inert matter, we really have a one stop shop for all our needs. Couple that with the Youtube channel and the ability to get one on one answers (from Joe) via text when needed and we are thrilled with our decision to use WHS for our property design. My only regret is we didn’t do it 20 years earlier! We are coming up on our one year anniversary of the design. We have implemented most of the suggestions already and the impact has been immense. Thanks for all your entire team does giving back to the hunting community.

These are my top 5 archery bucks i've taken all from the same property over the years using all the tactics i've learned from watching his video's!! The biggest in the middle scored 171-3/8s! Got my first archery buck when i was 15 & I'm turning 28 in June soo it took abit of time, but in my area I'm fairly well known for getting these bucks in that short time cause most hunters here maybe get lucky & shoot one like that in a whole lifetime lol

Thank you for everything you have taught me!!
Jeff, Thank you for all your information you provide!!! I started watching your videos last September and have gone 360 degrees on my food plots… going with the buckwheat thru summer to help my soil ( been set aside ground for 20yrs) then bassicas and greens for fall. The mock scrapes/vines are great. Thank you for everything you have taught me!!Not a rookie whitetail hunter but always willing to learn… lol
Thanks again

We are very grateful for Jeff’s efforts, and we are extremely excited to see what changes the rest of his plan brings to our farm in the future!
We purchased our farm 4 years ago in the Wayne National Forrest in Southern Ohio. Year after year, it seemed there were 2 deer that would live on our farm year-round. Following these deer and finding multiple years of sheds we have spent each year attempting to harvest these 2 particular deer as a special memory for the beginning of our farm. Over the years these deer seemed to elude us in every way. Only 1 time in 3 years did we see one of these deer in person during daylight. After Jeff’s visit in September 2022, we only had a couple weeks to implement a small portion of the plan Jeff laid out for us. Once deer season started we not only had more day light photos of a dozen mature bucks but we were able to pattern the 2 that had eluded us for years. I was able to take down this 6.5 year old 164” Southern Ohio deer and my father was able to take down his 8.5 year old deer only 3 weeks later. We are very grateful for Jeff’s efforts, and we are extremely excited to see what changes the rest of his plan brings to our farm in the future!

I am very happy overall with the results and could not have done without your information and willingness to share.
Good Day. I am not sure where the best place to express my thanks for you sharing the information on YouTube so I picked your website. I enjoy watching you and occasionally Dylan almost everyday sharing your knowledge. Long story short my dad, sister, nephew, and myself lost our shotgun hunting spot after the 2021 season. It was a great spot on a farm where all we had to do was show up and we would see deer. Been like that for 20 years. Easy really LOL! Now for over 10 years my my dad has had 27 acres of mature timber that straddles a rather deep creek with no field edges. He tried to bow hunt on it a few times with no success at seeing daylight deer despite having a small food plot. Since it was really our best opportunity to hunt outside of public land, I started researching deer information and came across your YouTube videos. I never knew there was so much to learn about deer hunting and habitat. I put together a design for 18 acres on one side of the creek (the other 9 acres is a 2024 project due to bridge issues) and we worked as much as we could to implement the design (there is more than enough to still do this coming year). The plan did work as we saw many daylight deer on the trail cams. Mostly does consistently with bucks sprinkled in starting late September. We had no idea what the deer herd was like here. Turned out to be pretty good by our standards as our shooter board had two 10 pointers and three 8 pointers. In the end my dad and my sister took does and my nephew got one of the 8 pointers off our board. My nephew also got a 6 pointer with a bow while my dad passed on number of yearlings with his bow. I didn't get any as first season I went to a wedding in San Diego (could not pass up the warm weather) and by second season all the cover was mostly gone (hence more work still to be done for late season hunting as it was straight up mature woods we started with). I am very happy overall with the results and could not have done without your information and willingness to share.
My dad was a bit old school and not quite on board with the plan I put together from your information however he is now. With the season over and the only green food being the winter rye our cameras did have 12 does and yearlings on the main food plot which is only 20yds by 90 yds. He said he has never seen that many deer total over the 10 years let alone during the day at the same time. We are so grateful for your expertise and that we can continue to deer hunt and create memories. Definitely a new chapter for us in the deer hunting space. I even got my first bow for this year! :) I look forward to your future videos and podcasts. Thank you again!

Just a quick thank you for using your passion for hunting and teaching to help hunters like myself.
Hi Jeff,
Just a quick thank you for using your passion for hunting and teaching to help hunters like myself. I have been hunting Whitetail for seven years, but by taking the time to learn and be strategic, I have become ten times the hunter I was last year! Much of that is thanks to you. I was able to fill three tags this year; one being my first harvest with a bow and one being my first buck. It feels great!
I wish you the best and look forward to learning more from you and supporting you in the coming years.

So wanted to say your videos do help, and I listened completely to what you were teaching. Thank you very much.
Hey Jeff, I watch your you tube videos regularly and have since a couple months before October 1st when in Illinois now season starts. I build a food plot, hinge cut trees, moved stands etc. all while listening to your videos. I wanted to let you know Nov. 12th mid day, I had 16 deer come through. All in a two hour time pan. I got in the stand at 12:41 pm. When I texted my wife I was up safe. I texted my son at 1:05 that I shot a Buck, and by 1:15 I filled my doe tag as well. Was a nice 8 point that I called long horn. Because one brow tine was longer than the other. So was a success. So wanted to say your videos do help, and I listened completely to what you were teaching. Thank you very much.
Here are the pictures of some of the mock scrapes from Jeff’s video and the two I got Saturday. Mid day. 15 minutes apart. I got in the stand at 12:40. By 1:05 I shit the Buck. And by 1:20 I shot the doe. Was a great day.

All because of you Jeff. I can’t begin to thank you enough.
I’m 62, I’ve hunted deer for fifty years. In the previous four years I’ve harvested only wall hangers.
This year makes it five. Not only my fifth one for the wall in as many years, but a target buck, a resident buck, a pretty well patterned buck, a buck I had two previous encounters with but he never knew it. At 7:15 this morning he stopped to survey the valley 15 yards from my perch. Only my fourth sit of gun season, first in this stand. I sat out all this warm days waiting for this.
All because of you Jeff. I can’t begin to thank you enough. I live about 20 miles from you if you ever need someone with a strong back and a weak mind to help with anything I’m you’re guy!!!

The class did a great job of highlighting the baseline fundamentals from which to work all of the other improvements into.
The class did a great job of highlighting the baseline fundamentals from which to work all of the other improvements into. Also, it's really nice to have that group of videos organized in an area where you can refer back. About the time I start worrying about depth of cover while working more food into my property I can refer back and maybe work in more food on a protected edge, but keep it thin and well screened and even think about does potentially bedded close to it if the browse and cover is there, and how that will affect everything else.......the class helps people stay focused on what's important and what your priority should be.

I have found the classes to be worth every penny, and enjoyable!
While I have found the classes to be worth every penny, and enjoyable, it has affected my sleep :). I dream about land improvements, failed food plots, and how to create buck bedding areas... After the classes and a few videos, I feel like I have a great strategy for next year with less effort and money.
I am a little over 1/2 way through the classes and so far I think they are great! I have watched tons of Jeff's videos on Youtube and these classes go deeper into the strategy behind the videos. Just finished my first on line class... I can imagine some guys saying I've read the books, I've watched the videos, I may have been on a designed property before...I don't need the class, what could I possibly gain from it...well...I've read the books 5 or 6 times each, watched the videos multiple times, been on your designed properties and been on properties with you Jeff...it’s much like when you tell us about how you will surpass a 1000 clients this year...the more you hear, see and do...the more your eyes and mind put all the pieces of the puzzle together. Too often people look for or expect too much....if you can't learn just one thing each time you read a book, watch a video, walk your property...you need to remove your blinders!

Never get tired of hearing from my deer hunting coach! ☺ I hope you get one or two of those Monsters! Come on Eileen! We are wrapping up our shooting lanes and getting every stand exactly how we want it so we can focus on planting our plots in August! I’m hoping the 150 inch to 160 11 pointer shows up this fall and the split brow 13 pointer shows up again in October. Can’t wait! God bless.

Thank you for your videos. You are a profound hunter and deer expert. I am really enjoying your videos.
I am absolutely amazed by your videos ! Here is why : I'm hunting since 1994 in Germany. Mostly roe deer, wild boar and red deer. Your findings on whitetail habitat, hunting strategies, population management etc. can be easily transferred to our roe deer.
Capreolus capreolus and Odocoileus virginianus are basically cousins within the Capreolinae family. I am following your channel recently and its’s so interesting to confirm your concepts and tips. Although hunting another deer species on another continent with a different habitat i can absolutely confirm almost everything you are saying in your videos. When it comes to movement peaks of bucks, food preferences (clover and alfalfa) importance of water in dry areas, salt or mineral licks and so on - you are spot on with your tipps as they work the same way on roe deer. The only one difference is the rut and even there are some similarities.
Thank you for your videos. You are a profound hunter and deer expert. I am really enjoying your videos.

Trying to create the perfect deer habitat is a never ending process and worth every minute and dollar spent. Thank you for all of these great videos.
I get so much info from your videos and books. Trying to create the perfect deer habitat is a never ending process and worth every minute and dollar spent. I hash tagged #whitetailhabitatsolutions on Instagram with a chart of all my trail cam buck activity by month and the results are pretty astounding. Thank you for all of these great videos.

Jeff, big thanks for this video. Last year I abandoned the plots and got the does to leave, and the mature bucks returned right away.
Jeff, big thanks for this video. I have land east of Leech Lake in Northern MN. We put in the food plots and did all the QDM stuff and it drove away all of our mature bucks and turned our land into a doe MECCA. Last year I abandoned the plots and got the does to leave, and the mature bucks returned right away. Your video describes EXACTLY what happened to our land, and it wasn’t good.

The only thing that is frustrating about watching your videos is I am going to have to wait another 6 months to apply a lot of what I have learned.! Keep it up!
Just found your channel. The only thing that is frustrating about watching your videos is the fact that i am going to have to wait another 6 months to apply a lot of what I have learned. Been hunting 26 years and I’ve learned quite a bit from your advice. Keep it up!

Jeff, I just want to say, I am a huge fan of your work, I have watched hundreds of your videos. No exaggeration. I watch every single new one and look forward to them, and a few years worth of old ones. I’ve learned more from your work than any other source, and I have enjoyed whitetail hunting more than ever before because of you. I am enjoying the off season, more than ever because I am able to have fun with cameras, mock scrapes, habitat improvements, and other items year round for the first time. I’m even enjoying turkey hunting more because I understand my land better and how wildlife interact with it. Your work has been a huge blessing to me.

I’m a true believer. Keep up the great work. I’ll be sure to give my neighbors a smirk and head nod from the seat of my 4 wheeler this summer.
Thanks for the videos Jeff. This will be my first year following your no till strategy from spring throughout the year.
I’ve followed your videos and implemented several of your management methods along with seeding your fall plantings on my parents old dairy farm in northern NY for the past couple of years. It’s left a lot of neighbors scratching their heads as to what I was doing and likely the butt of a few jokes... until last fall when we harvested one of the largest bucks taken in the area in probably 3 decades.

How lucky I feel, to have gotten this buck; it is still overwhelming! I know that if I wouldn't have seen your message, I wouldn't have been in the woods.
First off thanks for all the videos and posts that you have made. I read them all. But a special thanks is in order for your article last week. You talked about hunting the cold front Saturday. Well you convinced me enough to drive 2 hours to my parents hunting land to hunt. On a typical year I wouldn't have started hunting until mid October. But back to my story.
It's Saturday night and I'm in my stand by 5pm. By 6:30 I had already seen 6 different bucks. No shooters or at least not what I was looking for. About 7pm that monster buck came out. Just like you predicted. We had pictures of this buck, and so did the surrounding properties. So how lucky I feel, to have gotten this buck; it is still overwhelming! I know that if I wouldn't have seen your message about hunting Saturday, I wouldn't have been in the woods."

Since watching Jeff’s videos and reading his articles, I’ve completely changed the way I think and strategize my habitat work. The results speak for themselves!
Since watching Jeff’s videos and reading his articles, I’ve completely changed the way I think and strategize my habitat work. As I’ve taken on his strategies as my own, I have learned to transition my hunting properties to improve the habitat as well as my food plots for better fall hunting, and the results speak for themselves!

Jeff's teachings cover the entire spectrum of attracting, holding, building and hunting a great deer herd - even on small parcels!
I've found Jeff's concepts to be original, refreshing and highly effective! Not only do his concepts of defining deer bedding and movement patterns based on food sources work extremely well, but his use of the weather aligns with my own experiences for determining exactly when a mature buck will be on his feet. Jeff's teachings cover the entire spectrum of attracting, holding, building and hunting a great deer herd - even on small parcels!

Without Jeff, I would have invested a lot of cash and sweat equity to yield poor results at best. Thanks for sharing the wisdom!!!
An outstanding guide to not only the concepts which are necessary to create a deer sanctuary that can be successfully hunted, but the insights provided helped me shape strategies for hunting public lands I can't mold. A roomy land owner heading into my first season of shaping my new property, without Jeff, I would have invested a lot of cash and sweat equity to yield poor results at best. My plans for the property are significantly different now and I'm confident they will yield much greater success.. Thanks for sharing the wisdom!!!

Extreme whitetail knowledge. Wow! What knowledge this man has about whitetail deer. This would make a great gift to any hunter. Jeff thank you for sharing.

Once you understand habitat and how to manipulate it the hunting part is easy. This guy will open your eyes to making your hunting better and more predictable.
If you own your own land or have the ability to do habitat manipulation on your lease this guy's books are must haves. I've been deer hunting 25 years. I have learned more in the last couple years reading habitat/hunting books from Mr. Sturgis than in 25 years of hunting. Once you understand habitat and how to manipulate it the hunting part is easy. This guy will open your eyes to making your hunting better and more predictable.

I highly recommend any of Jeff's books to any serious whitetail hunter and manager. By far some of the most beneficial whitetail literature today.
I highly recommend any of Jeff's books to any serious whitetail hunter and manager. By far some of the most beneficial whitetail literature today. The concepts and ideas expressed in Jeff”s books has changed the way I hunt and prepare each season. He goes into not only the "how to" techniques most authors do but the "why" that many books and articles lack to share.

Jeff sent me his new book a month ago and it has helped me tremendously with my food plots and how to set them up.
Jeff sent me his new book a month ago and it has helped me tremendously with my food plots and how to set them up. He explains what seed to use and what time to plant the seed. He explains in depth how small thin plots are great for keeping deer on your property and getting the deer to go where you want them to. I am implementing Jeffs ideas this year and creating a long thin plot that will connect with my main plot and that way I know where to set my stand up. Jeff also talks about doe and buck bedding areas and his ideas are very easy to follow and are great for any hunter who wants to improve his chances at mature bucks.

This isn't your everyday deer hunting B.S. Jeff has very concrete ideas about deer movement that I will be able to implement on my property.
This isn't your everyday deer hunting B.S.
I own about 700 acres in Wisconsin. The property is surrounded by hundreds more. The deer are free to bed, hide and move about at will with very little pressure. Trying to pattern deer for hunting is a big problem for me. Jeff's book was a real help. I have all the features deer need to use and remain on a piece of property, but without the ability to pattern their movements, harvesting a mature buck is a real challenge. Jeff has very concrete ideas about deer movement that I will be able to implement on my property and recommendations I find very useful. I hope to run into Jeff soon and be able to talk shop. Thanks for your book.

Even though my land tract is small, I can still employ the design tactics covered in Jeff's book with a reasonable amount of success. A must have!
Food Plot Success by Design by Jeff Sturgis is a valuable read for either the novice, or accomplished hunter/land owner. I had a hard time putting it down - within 2 days I had read all 202 pages! One of the most important things I was assured of was that even though my land tract is small, I can still employ the design tactics covered in Jeff's book with a reasonable amount of success. Jeff provides written and graphic illustrations of each element of the food plot including cover, bedding, plot shape, stand placement, hunter access trails etc. The what, when, and where is also well covered regarding planting. One phrase from the book that will stick with me is "thin is in" regarding food plot design/shape. I have a long, narrow, well cleared trail that winds through my property that will nicely fit this technique. I learned that this type plot keeps the deer moving which is desirable, and provides the all important edge the deer favor for security. I could go on and on because there is so much more that Jeff covers. A must have for the aspiring food plotter!

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their property's food plots, bedding areas and who wants to get that mature buck on the wall.
Great read with practical solutions!
I purchased this book after Jeff did a management plan for one of my friends. I thought my friend was crazy for paying someone to do that. He shared the plan with me and I was impressed; I had to get the creators name. I started following Whitetail Habitat Solutions on Facebook. I loved every one of the morning mixers, so I decided to buy this book. Our family has 120 acres and this book covers everything that is going on at our property and more importantly, how to fix it. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their property's food plots, bedding areas and who wants to get that mature buck on the wall.

So much of what people have told me turned out to be purely anecdotal and not based on the "science". Exceeded my expectations...which were high to start with!
Exceeded my expectations...which were high to start with!
As a new landowner and someone who does NOT come from a farming background I was looking for a resource that I could use to increase my odds of success related to food plots. This book does that and much more....So much of what people have told me turned out to be purely anecdotal and not based on the "science" involved in managing food for Whitetails. I HIGHLY recommend this book for both a beginner (me) or someone who's been "educated" by friends and neighbors. Great stuff.

I would highly recommend following Jeff to anyone who is serious about managing for wildlife and taking their land stewardship to the next level.
As a former wildlife biologist I am familiar with many aspects of habitat and food plot management. With that being said there is always something to learn in the great outdoors. Jeff does a phenomenal job of breaking down not only WHAT you need to do to accomplish the goals set for the property you hunt, but most importantly WHY!
I would highly recommend following Jeff to anyone who is serious about managing for wildlife and taking their land stewardship to the next level.

Once you implement Jeff's concepts and design strategies....you will be able to take your hunting success to the next level you so desire!!! I promise;)
I've been a fanatic whitetail hunter for 26 years and counting. Over the years I've read just about every whitetail magazine, book, & blog to increase my odds of success. The 2nd year after reading Jeffs book and implementing his tactics, improvements, proper balance of food and habitat, etc... an increase of herd to around 70 deer by the end of season (not kidding your sightings will increase as the season progresses including bucks!). I harvested 2 awesome 8pts, passed on 18 immature bucks, and harvested 4 does to help balance the herd. My results may seem too good to be true...something like a fad diet....but trust me once you start to read this you won't be able to put it down and once you implement Jeff's concepts and design strategies....you will be able to take your hunting success to the next level you so desire!!! I promise;)

Jeff has allowed me to take the advanced principles of land management, and put them to use on my property in a language I could understand.
Jeff has allowed me to take the advanced principles of land management, and put them to use on my property in a language I could understand. I could start to see the strategies described in the book come alive in the first season of implementing some of these strategies. I am excited to keep the process of continued improvement on my property using more of the techniques described in this book. I highly recommend purchasing this if you are serious about creating a property that consistently delivers a great whitetail environment.

Jeff's concepts make a lot of sense and I can't wait to apply them to my 130 acre property. I am excited to get to start working on a number of his ideas.
Jeff's concepts make a lot of sense and I can't wait to apply them to my 130 acre property located in central Michigan. If you own or lease hunting property I encourage you to read Whitetail Success by Design. Not only is the book informative and easy to follow, it is very interesting and fun to read. I am excited to get to start working on a number of his ideas this spring.

Huge shout out to Jeff Sturgis and his infinite whitetail wisdom. I installed a waterhole and before too long all the deer in the vicinity were hammering it.
Huge shout out to Jeff Sturgis and his infinite whitetail wisdom. I installed a waterhole back in August just for this one particular buck after watching Jeff's videos. Before too long all the deer in the vicinity were hammering it including this guy. Fast forward to the morning of October 27th when a hot doe was thirsty around 8:20 AM and led this guy right past me at 30 yards.
